What Is DSL Bandwidth?

Dsl Bandwidth

DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line. The transmission throughput of DSL is symmetrical in downstream (from a company to a subscriber) and upstream (from a subscriber to a company) directions. The term DSL Bandwidth refers to the amount of data usage allowed to a DSL connection. In other words, the amount of data usage provided to a customer by the DSL provider or the company. Bandwidth refers to the usage of data either in terms of downstream or upstream. Downstream refers to saving the data to your computer from a server, other computer(s) or any other location. Upstream refers to providing data from your computer to any other computer.

The amount of bandwidth largely depends on the quota or amount of data usage allotted to you by the company or the plan chosen by you. Generally, there are 2 types of categories in plans, Household and Business plans. Household Plans are further categorized into unlimited hours, unlimited downloading and high speed connection with limited downloading. Business plans are normally categorized into high speed plans with limited connectivity as business users requires a lot of information and they don't want to waste time with slow speed connection.
