Dsl Modem Router
DSL modem router is always a good choice for people sharing multiple connections either in home or in office. Since, DSL sharing requires you to use a DSL modem router instead of a DSL modem, we will study the difference between the two and help you buy the same. DSL modem is used in home or office for a single DSL connection i.e. only 1 connection can be used with a DSL modem whereas in case of a DSL modem router multiple connections can be created using a single DSL modem router. Now, you have understood the basic difference between DSL modem and DSL modem router, you are ready to buy a new DSL modem or router. If you are a home user then generally you would require a DSL modem instead of a DSL modem router. But, exceptions are there when being a home user, you share you internet connection on more than one computer. In such a case you will require a good DSL modem router or also referred to as DSL router as it will be less expensive and will be best suited your needs. Also, if you are a new user then also it will remain the best option for you.
The only limitation with DSL modem router is that if you want to upgrade or enhance your router capabilities or the modem, then you will have to upgrade both of them and this will cost you additional charges. But, these additional charges are often less expensive as compared to several DSL modems at one place. The good thing about DSL is that the DSL provider or the company offers you the option to choose your own modem or use their modem for a small monthly rental. Don't even think of buying a new modem if you are keen of using the new internet technology because the internet technology is advancing at a fast pace and it will be difficult for you to bear the expenses of new technology. In other words, if you are doubtful of using new technology like wireless or broadband, then I will advise you to use the rental modem provided by the DSL Company. You can also go for wireless DSL but first you will have to make sure that your PC has the wireless capability and the same is available within your area. Also, you will need a wireless modem in order to enjoy the high speeds of wireless DSL. There are 3 major factors to be considered while going for wireless DSL are: strength of the wireless signal, speed and security. Without a proper signal, you will not be able to receive maximum speed from your wireless DSL and thus suffer in terms of time and money. Also, security is one of the major issues with wireless DSL and should be given preference over other factors while going for wireless DSL as you would not like to compromise on security. Therefore, before buying the DSL modem router or the DSL modem or selecting any new technology, always make sure you are on the safer side. |
